While the first issue had been mainly intended for current and future members of the alumni association, the second one already showed the collected editorial efforts of both SAE Alumni Association and SAE Institute.
The new layout was adopted as the future standard and - except for a few minor changes - has remained unchanged ever since. Issue 2/2005 had a circulation of 30,000 copies, distributed free of charge to alumni, current and prospective students, staff members, and industry partners of SAE Institute.
The bi-annual publication schedule was continued in 2006, resulting in two highly intriguing issues, packed with firsthand information and inside stories.
Time and effort put in by the editorial team continued to increase from one issue to the next, as did the need for additional financial investments. To further boost the number of copies and expand its circulation area for issue 1/2006, the magazine acquired outside financing by offering advertisement space to SAE’s industry partners.
2007 marks yet another important milestone for our publication:
SAE Magazine goes international!
- living up to the motto of the SAE Alumni Association, “connect local – network global!”
History
In February 2004, the vision of an SAE alumni magazine became a reality. The 8-page fledgling publication was the perfect way to keep both students and alumni informed on the SAE Group and all its endeavours.
